About Mind over magic

Mind over magic was approved on July 10, 2025, and opened on August 3, 2025. Thank you so much to The Fanlistings for approving me for this fanlisting! Shawn's fanlisting was a lower priority wishlist item for me, but when I saw the spot open up, I applied for it. I was sure I wasn't going to get approved though, so I was excited to see the email in my inbox!

Besides Gus, Shawn is my favorite character from Psych. While I could never do it myself, I love that he dramatically plays out the "psychic" bit of his abilities in front of everyone, which usually gets him quite a few eyerolls from his dad and Lassiter. He's quite witty and quick to quip out funny 80s movies references, even if Gus is the only one who understands them. I honestly just love Shawn just for being his weird self, and rebelling against people trying to fit him into a neat little box.

The design

You're currently viewing version 01 of Mind over magic. This might be my favorite design I've ever made. I wanted to do something sort of ransom-y-whodunit type of feel, and the magazine cutouts really helped that come out. It was also kind of how I imagined Shawn would have put together an ad for Psych – sort of arts and crafty? I wanted to add some elements that felt "drawn in", as if Shawn was drawing something on a whiteboard or a window. Since Psych is a detective show, I wanted to get some elements that felt like little confidential pieces of cases. Overall, I'm incredibly happy with how this came out.

The layout utilizes Bootstrap v5.3.7. It was designed in Adobe Photoshop 2023 and fully hand-coded in Sublime Text 4. The design was tested on a 1920x1080 resolution in Firefox, Google Chrome & Microsoft Edge. This layout should be fully optimized for all screen sizes, but let me know if you have any issues!
